Read Time:53 Second

There are few moments in which I feel more ‘at home’ than when I’m working with Rafael Bonachela. I felt a certain affinity with his work, from before we even met. Now that we have created work alongside one another (first with my book Protogenos and then with our collaboration on his piece 2 One Another), I certainly feel more attuned to his work – it strikes me deeper now: both emotionally and in terms of my enjoyment as a spectator.

When Rafael called me at the end of last year and asked me to join the project as Dramaturgical Consultant, I couldn’t say ‘Yes’ fast enough. Seeing the work now (presently touring Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra) fills me with great joy, as does the small inclusion of my name in the credits of what is undoubtedly a beautiful piece of dance.

For more information about ‘Frame of Mind’, you can read about the work here – if it comes to your city, be sure to book ahead because, more often than not, Sydney Dance Company shows sell out quickly.
