Artist and Educator
I’ve just wrapped up a short film (just over 5 minutes) with a wonderful Italian actress from Torino, Silvia Lorenzo. What that means is that I have this immediate urge to post it, to show it, to have it seen. But as this film was created specifically for certain film festivals and courses, we’re keeping it secret for a little while longer.

This is another installment of a series which intends to portray a city in its details, rather than its landmarks. ‘Seguo il Fiume’
After my work with the Italian National Archive of Diaries in Pieve Santo Stefano, Arezzo, it was a natural thing to seek out the Italian American Museum while I was in NYC in March.
One of the blessings of living in Tuscany is being able to play host to all my friends from around the world. Not only do they get to experience a little slice of my life here, but they see beauty which is truly unique to the region. Last week, my friend and singer/songwriter Ashleigh Auckland stayed in my Tuscan apartment, and one of the ‘once in a lifetime’ experiences was to record and film this cover of City and Colour’s “Little Hell”. We borrowed a guitar, recorded at my house and filmed near my house at once of my favourite places, The Temple of Saint Maria of the Colledestro.
I was fortunate enough to be asked to feature in L’Uomo Vogue alongside some new Australian talents making it big here in Italy. Here it is, fully translated, for those who were not able to read it in print.
Today, I hope we all take some time to focus on those who returned with empty hearts, and those who didn’t return at all. I hope we remember those who we lost at war, and those who felt lost when they returned.
It’s always a nice experience to receive good press, but the honour is doubled when it happens in a new country and a new language.
